Julia's "strategy" is unsafe

Winston and Julia together make a lot of sense in the view of the book but the way that Julia is doing it seems kind of weird. Just leaving a note saying that she loves him is such a strange way of doing things.

I think that Julia was studying Winston before this since he would see her around the city sometimes and have weird surges of hate since she was wearing the anti sex league sash. This made Winston notice her more and more but there could still potentially be a possibility that Winston could report her after this note. Julia's strategy (I guess this would be the best term?) to find party members ready to break the law is not safe, I am honestly surprised she has not gotten caught yet, especially if/once she stops seeing those other party members what would happen to her?

Do those other party members have the perfect break up and there's just a lack of feelings between them?

Do they get caught by the party and killed? If they do does the party not torture them for information?

Does the party know about Julia and secretly use her without her knowledge to find more "traitors"?

  1. Oh boy I want to comment but I will blurt out spoilers if I do. I'll just say that these are great questions.

  2. This is really interesting and I've been wondering the same things about Julia. She's obviously had time to explore London to find all of these meeting spots but why hasn't that been flagged as suspicious behavior.

  3. Wow, even with all that's happened in Part Two I wanted to comment and say that the last possibility is jarring and very big-brained of you.
